Sanding sponge are foam sponges impregnated with grit of various sizes, and people can use the sponge as a sanding tool to polish various surfaces. Most sanding sponges are designed to be used wet or dry. Wet sanding tends to produce less dust and is better for certain applications. Dry sanding with a sponge is also less dusty than using sandpaper, as the sponge tends to collect dust and debris that is later washed away.
